Many of us view Jesus from the narrow perspective that He was simply a teacher who taught about “church stuff.” But the teachings of Jesus was much deeper than that.
A close study of the teachings of Jesus reveals that Jesus taught about life and living. He literally taught those who followed Him how to live life. I believe that one of the principles that a student of the Bible can learn from the teachings of Jesus, is that you have to live life intentionally; you have to live on purpose, with a purpose. In other words, you have to have a plan for your life; you have to have a vision. Without a plan or vision, you literally have no direction for your life. If you have no direction, obviously, you have no determined destination. When you have no determined destination, you live what could be classified as a “tumbleweed” lifestyle. You allow yourself to be carried about with every societal or philosophical wind that blows, allowing the winds of uncertainty to carry you wherever it wills.
When one lives life aimlessly at some point they will eventually become wearied and stop enjoying the journey called “life.” But life doesn’t have to be that way at all. Believe it or not, you are in control of your fate. You are the one who ultimately determines your destiny. You are the one who sets the tone for your journey. It is all determined by the principles by which you choose to live. Jesus, being the Master Teacher that He is, has provided all the wisdom and insight you need to navigate through life to your ultimate destiny.
The wisdom of Jesus is applicable not only in the church community, but in the corporate community as well. It is because the wisdom of the Lord Jesus Christ is practical wisdom. Jesus taught practical wisdom because He, as divine as He was while in the earth, lived a practical life. He understood life and the challenges of life for even the common man. Instead of complicating life through deep philosophical teachings, He simplified life providing perpetual hope for all who choose to follow His teachings.
